Set at the southern end of the beautiful Vale of Clwyd, this event starts and finishes at the popular and thriving Caravan Park and Café at Llanbenwch, near Ruthin. The route is a precisely measured 5k and offers a varied multi-terrain experience, combining quiet minor roads with scenic trails to create an interesting and enjoyable run or walk. Surrounded by stunning countryside and fantastic views, it is ideal for those looking to race as well as anyone wanting fresh air and gentle exercise at their own pace.

The looped course makes use of minor roads and public footpaths, with the occasional short and gentle climb, though the majority of the route is pleasantly flat and perfect for stretching your legs. There is no time limit, making the event accessible to all abilities. The race will be electronically timed, with category prizes available, and every participant will receive a bespoke medal supplied by our partners at Sustainable Medals to mark their achievement.

With excellent facilities for runners and spectators alike, and a wonderful café to enjoy both before and after the event, the Vale of Clwyd 5k promises a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It is a fantastic way to kick off 2025 in one of North Wales’ most picturesque settings. Registration will take place between 9.30am and 10.15am, the race will start at 10.30am, and the presentation will follow at approximately 11.30am.
